Kathryn Waggoner, founder of Body Lab, has been teaching movement to people of all ages since 1980. A former dancer, she completed her Master's of Fine Arts degree from Mills College in Choreography and Dance and has been teaching dance at colleges and universities throughout California since 1985. She currently teaches dance at Gavilan College in Gilroy.

Through years of personal yoga, meditation, pilates and dance practice, Kathryn has developed an approach to movement that integrates a range of elements for a more holistic experience of the body in motion. In 2001, she completed her Rolfing certification, a rigorous program that gave her more depth and detail regarding the function of the body's structure in motion. Her clients include world class athletes, professional dancers and musicians seeking ways to enhance their performance as well as children and working professionals wanting improved posture and to feel better.

In addition to the Rolfing Certification, Kathryn has been certified by the PhysicalMind Institute to teach beginner and advanced mat classes and has completed the Pilates equipment education program through Balanced Body University. She also completed her Master Stretch certification with Body Code. Kathryn recently completed her second year of the Franklin Method Training, a modality which emphasizes deepening the connection between the body and the mind.

Her understanding of how the inner personal and outer physical realities communicate with each other is the basis of her work and her continued studies. Her commitment to her students is to encourage them to turn their focus inward and uncover their true potential for graceful coordinated movement, an easeful posture and ultimately to their own personal satisfaction and happiness.

Body Lab was created as a place to safely explore the inner and outer realms - a laboratory if you will, to find personal fulfillment and empowerment and to have a great time doing it.
